Comparison of Hydrogen Production Efficiency by Rhodopseudomonas palustris MP3 and Rhodopseudomonas harwoodiae SP6 Using an Iron Complex as an Enhancement Factor

چکیده

In the present study, an iron(II)-nanoscale organic complex (Fe-NO) was used as enhancement factor by two different Rhodopseudomonas species of purple non-sulphur bacteria (PNSB) to produce hydrogen (H2). The Fe-NO synthesised using FeSO4·7H2O and Eucalyptus viminalis—a native Australian plant leaf extract—in a 1:2 2:1 concentration ratio. Besides, also source iron(II) for comparison with complex. photo-fermentative bacterial cultures were isolated from fishpond, only strains, MP3 SP6, found viable after several attempts quadrate streaking. After phylogenetic analysis, these strains designated R. palustris harwoodiae SP6. control, results showed that PNSBs manifested approximately 50% higher H2 yield when in fermentation broth at 10 mg/L concentration, where 10.7 ± 0.54 10.0 0.49 mL H2/L obtained respectively. study revealed could be important material efficient production.

Using Rhodopseudomonas palustris PT

Biohydrogen production from synthesis gas (syngas) was investigated using a local bacterium isolated from anaerobic sludge of dairy wastewater. The isolated strain Rhodopseudomonas palustris PT was able to convert syngas to hydrogen through water shift gas (WGS) reaction. The aim of present study was to determine the optimum concentration of ferric citrate which avoids the cell growth inhibitio...

Mass production of Rhodopseudomonas palustris as diet for aquaculture

Three different types of anaerobic fermentations were used for the mass production of the photosynthetic bacterium Rhodopseudomonas palustris as diet for aquaculture. The optimum agitation speed and malate concentration were 300 r.p.m. and 0.2% in the modified MYC medium, respectively. In batch fermentations of R. palustris, the maximum number of viable cells was 1.1×10 c.f.u. ml with 2.65 g l ...

Production of hydrogen gas from light and the inorganic electron donor thiosulfate by Rhodopseudomonas palustris.

A challenge for photobiological production of hydrogen gas (H(2)) as a potential biofuel is to find suitable electron-donating feedstocks. Here, we examined the inorganic compound thiosulfate as a possible electron donor for nitrogenase-catalyzed H(2) production by the purple nonsulfur phototrophic bacterium (PNSB) Rhodopseudomonas palustris. Thiosulfate is an intermediate of microbial sulfur m...

Photobiodegradation of pyridine by Rhodopseudomonas palustris JA1.

A purple non-sulfur bacterium isolated from dairy effluent was identified as Rps. palustris JA1. This organism was able to grow on pyridine as sole source of carbon in a light dependent anaerobic process with a doubling time of 30 h. Intermediates of pyridine photobiodegradation were identified as glycine and malonate, produced in stoichiometric molar ratios with simultaneous utilization, yield...

Electricity generation by Rhodopseudomonas palustris DX-1.

Bacteria able to generate electricity in microbial fuel cells (MFCs) are of great interest, but there are few strains capable of high power production in these systems. Here we report that the phototrophic purple nonsulfur bacterium Rhodopseudomonas palustris DX-1, isolated from an MFC, produced electricity at higher power densities (2720 +/- 60 mW/m2) than mixed cultures in the same device. Wh...
